Dreams

Today I want to into something that may seem a little too philosophical for a photo blog, but I think that it hits home for most of us.
Dreams.
Unfortunately that is exactly how it looks for most of us. We have all had dreams and we probably still talk about them with our family and friends from time to time. For some their dreams have been pressed down to a place where they only think about them from time to time. I really hope that none of you find yourselves in a place where life has you so busy trying to survive that you don’t even get to think about your dreams anymore. I think that very few of us can say that the punctuation does not seem to be looming behind our dreams, leaving them as just dreams period.
The reason I wanted to bring this discussion to you is because for many of us photography is our dream. We dream about taking trips to exotic places, and bringing a piece of that place back with us on our film/SD Card. Others dream of getting the perfect shot that brings their cause to light in the world. Maybe others here are dreaming of the day when they can trade in the 8-5 to work on curating memories for others through your lens.

Well don’t leave that period behind your dreams anymore. Use it to steam-roll the road ahead to quash the opposition that makes achieving your dreams rough. Use the period behind your dreams as your stepping stone to reach up to the top shelf of life and grab what has seemed out of reach.

If you have been just wishing you could get that “perfect” composition reach out to someone that can get it and ask them to teach you or go take a class at a local Mike’s Camera. If you just know that you could bring back some lifetime memories if you could only afford a trip to Japan, then do some serious shopping around on sites like Dream Trips, or maybe get a seasonal job in the place where you want to travel. If you are looking at the rat race and you just don’t want to be a contestant anymore; you may have to scale back on your expenses a little and sell a couple different things that you like to do. But, you can make it and it will change your life. Stop imagining being excited and simply trilled to go make a living every day, stop saying “maybe” and kick that period right off the end of your dream
